If you've read my blog, you'll know that swapping with friends is one of my favorite ways to stretch the usefulness of an item and get new-to-me things in return on a teeny-tiny budget.
Plus, it's an excuse to throw a party.
So when my sweet friend Ashley from beatniksoul (you'll remember her as my co-host for my Fall 2015 Style Swap - she's a swap fiend like me) decided to think outside the box and host a Book + Mug Swap I was all over it.
I did find it hard to part with any of my books, as most of them were donated when we moved or during the 30-day Minimalism Game back in January.
I did finally come up with a copy of Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis that I was willing to part with, and made my merry way to Columbia, TN to see what Ashley had come up with (and I didn't mind the hour-long drive one bit either, as I'm still enjoying The Return of the King on audiobook and it's just golden).
Ashley's house is #goals anyway, but when you infuse her zen-but-not-in-a-forced-way home with chocolate pastries, herbal tea, french-pressed coffee, and a load of bookworms to chatter about their favorite authors, the house itself seems to smile. Or maybe that was just me.
Either way, the swap was just brilliant. I released my beloved Lewis book into the hands of folks I knew would appreciate it, and I walked away with a beautiful Tolkien book to get to work on when Frodo's done adventuring.
Her party favors were the simplest, most perfect of all time, too - Free Printable Coloring Page Bookmarks from Dawn Nicole Designs.
Thanks so much Ashley for making this evening possible!
